Pictured are floods from 1936 and 1942. There was also a huge flood in 1870 that started around Charlottesville. And there have been many others, 1985 for example.
Most recently we had floods in 2011 and 2014, which some of us recall pretty clearly as we watched Happy Creek rise several feet and make its way into a number of local houses and businesses.
