Jasper Ridge, a newly identified part of Flint Run and Thunderbird complex, has revealed important evidence of both late and early post-Ice Age activity, dating back 13,000 to 9,000 years ago. Dr. William Gardner and his students discovered that prehistoric people were drawn to this spot largely because of the extensive jasper outcroppings found in Warren County. This jasper was highly valued for crafting stone tools and blades, making the area a significant hub of activity during that time.
