Step onto the trail and into the stories of Warren County and the Shenandoah Valley.
The Warren Heritage Society’s Historic Hikes are guided history experiences designed for people who enjoy learning, exploring, and spending time outdoors. These are not fast-paced endurance hikes. Your trained guide will set a comfortable pace, keep the group together, and make frequent stops for stories, conversation, photographs, and time to enjoy the landscape.
What to Expect
- A beginner-friendly, comfortably paced hike
- Frequent stops for stories and discussion
- A trained guide who keeps the group together
- Approximately two or more miles of trail
- Uphill sections and natural, uneven terrain
- A three-hour experience that includes plenty of stopping and exploration
- FUN!!!
Hike begins at Dickey Ridge Trailhead on Skyline Drive, just before the entrance to Shenandoah National Park (you do not need to pay to enter the park). Parking is available along Skyline Drive and the trailhead is marked.
