These are the collected correspondence of Irving, a Front Royal native, who joined the Warren Rifles militia and later on became a clerk for Col. Thomas Jordan, ultimately reaching the position of Gen. Patrick Cleburne’s AAG. The letters span From February 1860 until February 1866, and include letters from his sister Lucy, his brother Alvin, and others. 301 pages.
