Archives Expansion

The Capital Campaign to raise funds for the expansion of the Laura Virginia Hale Archives began in 2006 and ended in 2008,when construction began on the new wing. Due to the kindness and generosity of those interested in preserving the documents that chronicle the history of Warren County, the beautiful new wing was finished in the fall of 2008. Prior to that, there was no more room for additional collections to be added and the Society was on the verge of having to decline additional donations.

The new addition houses an expanded public reading room, an work room for accessioning new collections and a spacious new vault. The old reading room is now a conference room, complete with all new furniture donated by one of our board members, Lorraine Dovell.
